Week 11

I shared my questions today from chapter 16. How much underground economy happens in one day? If there is no class how do you motivate society? Our main focus this week is to find the difference between equality vs equity. Today in class we talked aobut justice and how it relates to ethical theories. I found this interesting as it sociology was connecting to my ethics class. We discussed the natural law theory and the fairness int eh monkey expierement that Crystal showed us. One monkey recieved a grape and the other monkey recieved a cucumber. A grape and a cucumber are not equal, therefore not fair. Once we finished discussing the video we talked about utilitarianism and the main point of this theory is to benefit the most amount of people. Distributive justicie is the equality between both male and female. WC: 142
