End of Week 10

Today Crystal talked about global stratification. Global stratification refers to the hierarchical arrangement of individuals and groups in societies around the world. We learned global stratification in context to the domestic stratification and social class. The Bloddy Diamond is a clip that we watched to relate the concept of global stratificaton as well as gloal inequality. The Diamond is a very precious gem however individuals are put through manual labor slavery in order to produce the amounts that developed countires are demanding. This creates a war between the citizens in the African country in which the diamonds are found and extracted. Many people have died due to this material need. WC: 110
