Week 4

Crystal returned our take home quizzes on chapter two. We then started chapter 3 on culture. Culture varies greatly however they all have common elements, including symbols, language, values and norms. Specifically we focused on linguistic diversity and its importance in culture. The sapir-whorf thesis relates to linguistic diversity as it states that people see and understand the world through the cultural lens of language. Beginning chapter three we will need to turn in seven definitions with a picture, the entire worksheet will be due at the end of chapter three. In addition to this continuation of the family tree project is crucial.
